my sweet Callie,

Mommy is so excited to be done with school.

I can now be completely yours.

I get to be the one to be with you all day long.

I finally get to spend all of the time in the world feeding you, talking to you, playing with you, staring into those beautiful blue eyes, listening to your every coo, comforting you when you cry, reading you stories, taking pictures of you, laughing with you, and loving you like crazy!

I love you with all my heart,

Mommy

Socks..

Why do I even bother putting them on when they only last a few minutes?

I found this little pile next to her car seat the other day ;)

I'm back: Part II

December 24-26: Callie's first Christmas- We had a great Christmas. We were able to spend time with both our parents, Jason's siblings, and my grandparents. Christmas morning was so fun with Callie (not that she cared that much, but we had fun). She liked grabbing and pulling the paper, but mostly so she could try to eat it.

We spent Christmas Eve with Jason's family. We ate dinner, opened family gifts, and sang Christmas songs (I attempted to play the piano for the first time in over a year...it was rather embarrassing). We had our own Christmas morning with Callie and then my parents and grandparents came over for breakfast. We stopped by for a while at Jason's family's to see their new presents. Then we went to my Grandma Black's for Christmas dinner with my parents, aunt, uncle, and cousins. The next day we spent the whole day at Jason's family's house since this would be our last time with them before going to Texas. It was hard to say goodbye.

December 26-27: Jason Got the stomach flu on Sunday evening and was up sick all night long. This kept me awake most of the night as well...I spent Monday working hard to get everything packed and ready to leave for 3 months while Jason recovered from his illness. We had to leave Tuesday in order to beat a big snow storm coming that week. Jason did what he could, but I ended up needing some more help. My awesome mother-in-law came to the rescue. She took Callie for the afternoon and evening to keep her from getting sick and so that I could get as much done as possible. The night came and I was feeling quite overwhelmed and exhausted, so my mother-in-law and her daughter Shaina came over to help me finish up.

December 28-29: Jason felt much better Tuesday morning and I was tired, but not sick so we headed off for Texas. The drive the first day was great and we made it to Santa Rosa, NM. Wednesday morning, I was not feeling well. I thought (or rather hoped) that I was just car sick, but around 2:00pm I found out I had the flu...The last 2 hours of our drive took about 4 or 5 hours. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say that was the most miserable drive of my entire life. Aside of that fact, we finally made it to Texas!!

December 31: We saw my sister, Andrea and her kids.

Present: Jason started his internship with PWC in Dallas on Monday. He's pretty excited about it, although the past couple of days have just been filled with boring training. Callie and I are enjoying are time together, and I am loving being back in Texas and especially being so close to my sister!

I'm back!! Part I

I'm back to Texas and I'm back to the internet! After being MONTHS without internet...here you go:

October 27: Callie's first snow!

October 31: Callie's first Halloween- She's a pumkin, of course. Can't you tell? (we weren't about to pay $20 for a costume she would wear once that wasn't even cute and I didn't have time to make one so we improvised).

November 14: Callie's first solid food (4 months old)

November 28: Callie's rolling over a lot now

December 5:

December 10: I finished my student teaching and my degree!!! Jason bought me roses, a card, and a Symphony chocolate bar. I'll be attending the graduation ceremony in April.

December 13: Jason and I went to a Jazz game together for the first time. It was part of his Christmas present (as was the cool jersey he's wearing).
