Help!

Okay, so I need the help of all of my creative, teaching sisters and cousins! Jason and I have to do sharing time in a couple weeks, and we need ideas! The topic is "showing respect and kindness to all of God's children." I've never done sharing time before, and I am having a hard time coming up with anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Katie! I just went to lds.org. Go to Gospel Library, Magazines, then "Search Friend" for Respect and Kindness. There are some great ideas. Find Jeffrey R Holland's quote. I bet if you asked; Can anyone tell me a story about when someone was kind to a person who needed a friend? Every kid would raise their hand. As you know, kids love to hear and tell stories! And they love to be praised for doing good things. That's not very creative, but that's probably what I would do.

play memory. you know, have a bunch of pictures on the bored and they have to find the two matching ones. like, one set is a kid playing with his younger brother, one is a kid helping an old person, that kind of thing. they're playing a game and learning ways to help at the same time. sneaky.

Role playing can always be a fun idea. Showing examples and nonexamples. It just gets them up and moving which is a nice change sometimes.

Use primary songs and examples from the scriptures!!! When I taught sharing time, I loved to use stations. They don't do that very much, or ever, in primary. But they are very familiar with it in school. It is a fun way to do a lot of activities in a short amount of time. You'll have to get others involved in helping you teach (like the primary presidency or other teachers).

Good luck. You'll do great!!!

Love ya.
